During one episode of The F Word, Ramsay cooked in Doncaster Prison in Marshgate for its inmates. The chef was so impressed by the speed at which a prisoner, Kieron Tarff, chopped vegetables that he offered him a job at his restaurant following his release in 2007.
On an episode of Hotel Hell, one of the cooks was a 19 year old kid named Scooter with a heart condition. Ramsay asked Scooter what he wanted to do with his life and Scooter said, “I would love to open a bakery one day”. Gordon was so inspired by his passion and talent that he agreed to give Scooter a full scholarship to culinary school.
