some people…smh

I spoke with a woman who had an abortion at 36 weeks. Her baby had died inside her. The operation to remove it it was marked as an abortion, because that’s technically what it was. And the piece of shit nurses who worked in the birthing ward and called themselves Christian were horrible to her, absolutely awful, because they were against abortion and blamed her for the death of a baby that she loved and desperately wanted.

When I raised this story with an anti-abortion campaigner, she smiled sympathetically and said that many women found it healing to go through the process of giving birth to a dead baby, and that it helped with their grief.

She was prepared to shame this woman and block her access to a medical procedure because she thought she should be strong enough to give birth to a dead baby.

Well guess what. I would not be that strong. I could not go through the process and pain of birth if I knew my baby would be stillborn. No woman should be shamed for seeking to avoid further trauma, or denied access to the operation that would reduce that trauma.

So stop your hate campaign against women forced to have a late-term abortion. You don’t know what you’re talking about.
