There is an entire list of reasons why this show should be avoided like the fatphobic piece of garbage it clearly is, but let’s start with the name.
The idea that fat girls are “insatiable” is a rape culture trope.
In the time of Me Too, fat women are still not believed and our pain is a joke to thin people.
This character is brutally assaulted FOR BEING FAT to the point where her jaw has to be wired shut– and the people who made this show think that is “zany”. When I spent my entire childhood being abused and assaulted for being a fat girl– I didn’t find it fucking zany.
Number 2-
Don’t watch media that use fat suits. Period.
Fat suits never look right on thin people and I have come to believe that is a feature, not a bug.
Fat suits exist in order to make us look inhuman and monstrous.
Fat suits perpetuate the idea that for a fat person to become permanently thin, all they need to do is take off that suit of fat they are wearing and- ta da! Thinness and power are yours for the taking.
Number 3-
You can be literally anything you want to be AND ALSO BE FAT.
You can be a fat princess, a fat jock or a fat brain.
Fuck you, Insatiable.

This show promotes eating disorders.
To teens.
Number 5-
Thin people need to stop stealing the stories of fat people.
I don’t care what thin people think about fat people, and I ESPECIALLY am tired of seeing the pain of fat people appropriated by thin people to pretend to be body posi to each other, while making things worse for actual fat people.
I am really sick of catching death threats from neo-Nazis to make space for fat people, only for thin people to rush in and steal it, ignore fat people and shove us out.
Stop stealing our stories. Thin people STEAL OUR PAIN and turn it into jokes. And tired, lazy jokes too.

i know a lot signed a petition to get this show out of netflix but they are going to show it regardless so what i think we should do is spread the word and tell people to avoid it like the plague

Women are more than capable of being physically and emotionally abusive. i see it a lot as a paramedic and it is so hard for men to admit or face up to. As a woman i will call a woman on it just as fast as i will a man. Abuse is abuse, no matter who is doing it.
I love this because you have Elizabeth who couldn’t even defend herself in the first one to becoming this master sword fighter and leader of ALL pirates. You watch Will who was just this angsty little brat head over heels for Elizabeth become this grown man who faced all his demons.

Elizabeth who CAME AT BARBOSSA WITH A GODDAMN KNIFE and then fucking STABBED HIM when she couldn’t get away
Elizabeth who was trapped on a tiny island with nothing but crates of rum and a man she couldn’t stand and who used those supplies to summon a rescue party for herself
Elizabeth who made a rope out of sheets and climbed down the back of a ship to save the day herself when no one would listen to her about how dangerous the pirates were
Elizabeth who snuck onto the Black Pearl, knocked two cursed pirates straight off their ship, and rescued Jack’s entire crew
Elizabeth who rowed straight back into danger without any backup instead of running away with everyone else
Elizabeth who came to Will’s rescue with a blunt object and a one-liner
Elizabeth who proceeded to team up with Will to take down all the remaining pirates in the cave
Elizabeth who – without being asked or told what was going on – faked unconsciousness to create a distraction for Will’s rescue of Jack
Elizabeth who stepped in front of a ring of muskets, successfully protecting Jack and Will from being shot or captured
Elizabeth may have learned some impressive sword tricks in the later movies, but she was a Badass from day one.
Wolves React To Gamekeeper Who Had Been Away On Maternity Leave
“WHERE’S YOUR PUPPY! WE WANNA SEE YOUR PUPPY! DID YOU JUST HAVE THE ONE? DO YOU HAVE THEM WITH YOU? ARE THERE PHOTOS?”
I’m not a hundred percent positive but I’m pretty sure this is the wild life center where I visited wolves.
And the safety briefing included the question “So if you’re pregnant, do you want to know or not?”
Turns out there had been a bit of an awkward situation once where the keepers had casually mentioned a woman’s pregnancy in a group, and she herself didn’t even know yet. Turns out the wolves are excellent at telling if you’re pregnant and the keepers can tell based on their body language. They get all odd and careful around pregnancy. (Even wolves knows that you have to take care of pregnant people.)
So they definitely knew she was pregnant.
And if I remember my BBC documentaries right, a wolf will leave the pack to give birth and introduce the cubs to the pack once she feels ready for it. And maternity leave is flexible but often around 6 months so they’re going “YOU WERE GONE FOREVER! WE WERE SO WORRIED! WHERE ARE THE CUBS?? WE HAVE TO GREET THE CUBS!!“
Also the two on her back are fighting over who gets to greet her first. Giving and receiving attention is a commodity that goes by hierarchy and if you don’t accept that there will be scuffles.. The wolf lying down next to her isn’t chill about her coming back, it’s just submissive to the other wolves and waiting for it’s turn to show excitement.
