I am just craving Autumn!! I want to curl up with tea and a book and a blanket on a rainy September day, scare myself with horror movie marathons on chilly October nights, and be greeted with the aroma of cinnamon and pumpkin spice when I walk into coffee shops on November mornings. I want Autumn.
how many muggle born kids showed up at hogwarts like, “i get you’re into magic and don’t get me wrong, magic is awesome, but please don’t try and tell me quills and inkwells make more sense than pencils. i realize you have an aesthetic going, but admit it’s that. admit it’s just for looks.”
Imagine how many muggles parents looked at the supply list and went “Parchment? Quills? INKWELLS? Fuck this we’re going to staples.”
And then imagine if the muggle parents start getting into arguments with the teachers when they start getting messages telling them their kids aren’t using the proper materials.
“Okay look we can accept working with frog livers, turning mice into fine china, and whatever the fuck ‘arithmancy’ is but we’re not going to let you shame our kids just because they choose to use a bic pen instead of this ‘ye old inkwell’ bullshit. Also. it’s called a spiral notebook and I’m not gonna make my Abby drag around five hundred feet of loose parchment just because you people have a theme going.”
Aesthetic or death
“Also, you’re going to need to make assignment length a lot more clear. ‘5 inches about werewolves due Tuesday’ doesn’t make any damn sense. Also, the reason Susie is turning in assignments on lined paper is that she can’t write in a straight line to save her life without it.”
“Only 90s gamers remember this. Only 90s gamers remember this. Were you born in the 90s, I don’t think so. Otherwise you’d know what this is. If you’re not a 90s gamer, you’re not gonna know what this is! Cuz only people born in the 90s know what this is. Only 90s gamers will ever know what this video game is. That’s it! People born in the 90s. In 1990s, people born 90s will know what this is. Only 90s gamers know what kind of game this is. If you ask any kid from the 2000s, they’re not gonna know. You can ask someone born in the 1980s they’re not gonna know.”
I never thought I’d make a post like this, but here I am.
My friend Kelly is 16 and has 2 years to live.
Kelly is an inspiring, artistic, clever and beautiful girl.
She has been diagnosed withDesmoplastic small round cell tumor (DSRCT) in October 2015. It’s a rare, aggressive cancer that usually begins in the abdomen. It’s so rare that only 20 adolescents in USA are diagnosed with it a year.
Our friend Kelly has been through 9 rounds of chemotherapy but the tumors are close to her liver. The operation is not possible in UK.
THERE IS HOPE.
There is hope in
The University College Hospital @ London, The MSK @ New York and possibly Christies @ Manchester.
The surgery in USA is not covered by insurance and so we have to found it. We need you to help. We need £1million for this to happen. We have 80 days. We need help.
kelly in her prom dress, she looked absolutely amazing
you know i try to keep this blog on-topic, but signal boost! this article was from june 2016 so this is still ongoing. please support if you can and reblog if you can’t!
Felt the need to signal boost this again. According to this update, the hospital has taken scans and confirmed that they can and will do the surgery, but the family is only at about 10% of their goal. Please give if you can, and share Kelly’s story if you can’t. I can’t imagine what it feels like to know something could save your life but also knowing that you can’t afford it. No one deserves to go through suffering like this. Let’s do what we can to see that Kelly won’t have to, either.
